Product Features:

  • EFI LS hi-ram intake manifolds are designed for your high performance race engine. Big cube and high-rev applications without height limitations are the intent for these manifolds. these hi-ram intake manifolds offers a runner length and as-cast tapered cross-section design that works for a wide range of engine configurations. The included fuel rails are machined for -8 AN O-ring fittings with passages large enough to accommodate high fuel flows and dampen pressure pulsations in the fuel system.
  • These hi-ram style intake manifolds are designed for high performance engine applications up to 427-440 cubic inch displacement and maximum engine speeds of 7500-8500 rpm, depending on the engine combination. The Hi-Ram intake manifolds are intended for maximum performance applications and will not accept stock components and hardware.
  • The EFI versions of the LS hi-ram intake manifold and fuel rail are designed to accept EV-1 or pico fuel injectors.
  • Remind:OE LS fuel injectors may not fit properly in the hi-ram EFI intake manifold fuel rail assembly.You need to purchase the bracket separately. A modified hood will be required for most vehicle applications.
  • Notes: Longitudinal plenum top with fuel rails machined for -8 AN O-ring fittings

1. Alignment Issue: Intake Doesn't Seat Fully

Q: My new intake doesn't seat fully, and the bolt holes seem slightly misaligned. Why? A: This may occur if your engine heads or block have been milled, resulting in a narrower valley. The intake manifold may require machining to compensate for this variance and ensure proper alignment.

2. Bolt Replacement Requirement

Q: Do I need new intake manifold bolts when switching to a JGhyperX aluminum intake? A: Yes. Since aluminum manifolds typically have thicker mounting flanges, stock bolts may be too short. Always use bolts of appropriate length to achieve a proper seal.

3. Surface Damage & Seal Integrity

Q: Will the intake still seal if the mounting surface is scratched? A: For minor imperfections, composite gaskets can often conform under compression. However, severe damage may compromise the seal. We recommend inspecting and resurfacing the manifold if deep scratches are present.

4. Torque Specifications & Sequence

Q: What torque specification and sequence should I use? A: Correct torque values and tightening sequences are provided in the included instructions. Strictly follow these guidelines to ensure a reliable seal.

5. Hood Clearance Consideration

Q: Will the JGhyperX intake fit under my factory hood? A: Unfortunately due to the unlimited amount of variables that exist with each custom build or upgrade, you will need to check your available hood clearance for your application if this is a concern.

6. Carburetor Spacer Selection

Q: Should I use an open-center or four-hole carburetor spacer? A: - Open spacers increase plenum volume. - 4-hole spacers enhance low-RPM torque and throttle response. - Wood fiber laminate spacers help reduce heat transfer.

7. End Seal Recommendations

Q: How should I seal the front and rear of the intake to the block? A: For applications that traditionally use end seals, apply a ¼" continuous bead of RTV silicone, ensuring it overlaps the corners of the intake gaskets.
